The Adventure

Micki
Findlay, Ohio, United States
Hey Honey, Look at this property . . . That's the way this adventure began; with a casual comment to Tom regarding a local building that I had always admired. On a tour of the building with the local auctioneer we discovered the place had been essentially abandon for almost two years. While it had lots of potential there was a great deal of TLC needed and a whole lot of unknowns. Agreeing that we were likely crazy we bid on and won our 'gem' during a nail biting auction which ended exactly at our prearranged limit. Whew! We were the proud owners of . . . a very dilapidated building with retail shop, four apartments, separate workshop and a gas well. If you're wondering what our experience level is in commercial property that would be a big zero! This blog will follow our journey from novice building renovators through becoming landlords and eventually shop owners. Hopefully it will be successful venture but in any case it will be one full of fun and adventure. You can read about us and the cast of characters joining in our adventures further down. I hope you'll become a virtual Cauldron crew member and check often for updates.
